Hey there. Nice to meet you.

We're Hosea Music, but maybe you've gathered that by now.  We're a indie folk band from Atlanta, started by our soulful frontman Michael Hosea, then joined by the lovely Dawn Taylor. To us, this is all about being storytellers, sharing truth about the messy, but beautiful, journey of life and love. Our first EP was recorded in Memphis and released on October 13th 2017.  We've done shows around Atlanta, our favorite spot being Smith's Olde Bar. A melody of heartbreak, of hope, and of heaven, our style is inspired from some of our favorites -- The Lumineers, Johnnyswim, The Head and the Heart, John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, James Taylor.

All in all, in comes down to this - we just want to share things - encounters. dreams. ideas. a little bit of heartbreak. We strive to write lyrics and create music that strikes common-ground with someone, that makes their reality and perspective feel seen. Every moment and every experience is just a story waiting to be told, and no matter what kind of tale that may be, whether happy or sad, we believe that there is one single root that needs to be shared above all else:

       Hope.

We're here to help that message along, and we hope you find a little of bit of all those sharable things in these stories of ours.

C'EST LA VIE

Verse 1

The sun was setting, the lights were low

Your smile lit up the world below

Your eyes gazed out the car window

Oh, beautiful girl, you’ll never know.

Verse 2

Our friend’s, they’d stare, as if they knew

The truth behind the me and you

Or the way I felt when you’re in view

A love exists, but no, it’s not for two.

Chorus

C’est La vie,

Such is life lived wild and free

Rather Keep you close, than let you roam

Alone through stormy seas, oh

Mon Cherie

Wanted you to be my queen

Keep the faith, but as they say, oh, C’est La vie

Verse 3

Now I see you still from time to time

Try to play it cool, toe the line

A diamond so rare is hard to find

It hurts like hell, but no, I don’t mind

Chorus 2

 C’est La vie,

Such is life lived wild and free

Rather Keep you close, than let you roam

Alone through stormy seas, oh

Mon Cherie

Wanted you to be my queen

Keep the faith, but as they say, oh, C’est La vie

Verse 4 (Bridge)

And I’ll dream of you when I feel alone

And in those dreams I don’t let you go

We laugh, we kiss, and all along

You knew I was the match...to fit your soul

Chorus 3 (B)

C’est La vie

It will never be me

But it’s all well worth the fee

For the way you looked at me, oh,

Mon Cherie

Thank you for the memories

Never felt your lips, but oh well, C’est La Vie

All I wanted was a chance, but C’est La vie

SECOND

Verse 1

Morning light found me jotting down the words I’d like to say

Sweaty palms as you entered through the door and walked my way

We waved hello, what do you know, realized I couldn’t look away.

My beating heart, oh where to start, I always hated second dates

Verse 2

Busy tables full of people spinning wheels until they drop

I felt alone with you, exclusive heartbeats in this coffee shop

We talked about my family, and how my mama raised us on her own

We talked of our big plans, and all the while not knowing we were home

Chorus

Never knew I could grow old with someone knew

Never knew the sun should shine so bright

Never felt like holding on to a moment too

But here we are in this same coffee shop tonight.

Verse 3

Busy streets, full of people going nowhere fast

I’d rather sit with you and watch the sand fall down the hour glass

Did you just see my eyes? They lit up when I made you laugh

You’re not the first girl, darling, but I would surely make you be last

Chorus

Never knew I could grow old with someone knew

Never knew the sun should shine so bright

Never felt like holding on to a moment too

But here we are in this same coffee shop tonight.

Verse 4

Barista says it’s time for us to go

I simply look at you and grin

Before we leave, there’s just one thing I’ve gotta know

Would you meet me here again…

HEADING WEST

Verse 1

When that call for adventure washes over me

And this standstill traffic makes it hard to breathe

My one responsibility is just to live a life that’s free

I’m heading west of the Tennessee

Verse 2

We’ll take off as the sunlight rises in the east

Crossing bridges, mountains, and every plain beneath

Oh, no idea just where we’ll go, but all I need’s the open road

Come follow me wherever winds will blow

Oh, ohhhhhhhh

Ohhhh

Verse 3

Highway slows after all this world we’ve seen

We settle down, and look around, we’re in a place I never thought that we would be

Catching stars under the sky, and there’s no need to sleep tonight

We made it west of the Tennessee

Oh, ohhhhhhhhhh (ten count)

Ohhhh (nine count)

Verse 4

And when morning comes, we’ll turn around and head from here

Back to our homes, and streets we roam, to our lives we feel we cannot steer

But all that crying’s not for me, we’ve made much more than memories

This adventure may be through, but there’s no stopping me and you

So many places left to go, and anywhere with you is home

We’ll be back west of the Tennessee

Oh, ohhhhhhhhhh (ten count)

Ohhhh (nine count)

Oh, ohhhhhhhhhh (ten count)

Ohhhh (nine count)
